WHEN TO SAY AMEEN IN DUA?

So I've had this question for a while in my head and it's when to say Ameen when someone makes dua, for example the imam in the last part of the khutba he says some duas and ppl say Ameen whenever a dua is made but they dont wait until the end. I could do that but i dont know every single dua so i dont really know when the dua is done, i just say Ameen whenever i hear the imam starting a new one, so i thought i had to say Ameen at the end once the imam was done, but at the same time idk if this is wrong. Could you guide me on this matter pls?
