I sincerely hope that you are in good health and that Allah Almighty continues to protect and bless you.
I am writing to you with great respect from Afghanistan. For nearly five years, the Taliban have been in control of our country. During this period, they have imposed severe restrictions on women, claiming that these measures are based on Islam and Islamic law.
However, despite my efforts to understand these rulings, I have not found clear and convincing evidence from the Holy Qur'an or the authentic Sunnah that justifies preventing women from receiving an education, working, or participating in society in the way these restrictions have been enforced.
My own mother served for sixteen years in the Ministry of Agriculture. She dedicated her life to serving her country with honesty and experience. Today, despite all her qualifications and years of service, she has been forced to remain at home simply because she is a woman.
As a Muslim who sincerely wishes to understand the teachings of Islam, I respectfully ask you to explain whether these restrictions truly have a clear foundation in the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah. If they do, I would be grateful if you could kindly provide the evidence and explanation. If they do not, I would also appreciate your honest opinion on this matter.
My intention is not to argue or criticize anyone. I am only seeking the truth and a clear understanding of Islam.
