Sheil I know commiting suicide is Haram but like s it Haram to commit suicide to save people or to stop wars?.

But is it Haram when a person commits suicide to stop wars or for the safety of the people. For example,A person is getting death threats for not giving information of let's say his friend. And giving away the info will get the friend in trouble. So the person commits suicide to save his friend. Is it still Haram?
