Sheikh can you tell me what I should do?
Both of my parents are bad parents. They often scold and shout at me, making me depressed. But last year my father was successful in performing Umrah and of course when he returned there was no change, then this year my mother was also suddenly sent on Umrah by her friend..Which she herself accused me of never praying even though I pray to Allah all the time, wondering when I will be free from them. Well, as a child I was still happy for them even though they treated me very poorly. But I have a very unfair feeling in my heart, how can they get an opportunity to go Umrah when they treat all their children so badly

Not a sheikh but I'll share a bit of myself that may or may not help you. Allah never said that life in this world would be easy (to my knowledge). I feel you as well, don't worry. I only live with my mom, my dad doesn't live with us and I'm long distanced with my brother and he only comes during summer vacations and winter breaks. My mom's extremely over protective and forces me to wear a dupatta to cover my chest and makes me feel bad about it. And what makes it worse is that my brother always comments on how I'm being sinful, disrespectful, and shameless by not wearing a dupatta or hijab outside and my mom always takes his side and forces me to wear it which extremely upsets me and makes me insecure, especially because whenever I say how my brother wears shorts that show his butt off, my mom says he's a guy so it's okay which makes the patriarchy in my life very annoying and I've grown more distant from my family. And as someone who lives in a very western first world country and in a city where you could find every single ethnicity and background in, the amount of western stuff obviously influences me as someone going through puberty which makes me want to try new stuff in the boundaries of Islam but how my mom is so patriarchal makes me so so so so upset and dissappinted in her. I don't want to wear the dupatta/hijab because I'm not ready for it yet and my mom forces it on me which makes me insecure and I've noticed how I do my best to hide something that is normal. And I just want to fit in. My mom may be right to a certain degree but she isn't the best parent I'd want. My mom also scolds me all the time and our personalities just dont match and we fight more often than I'd like. But you just gotta focus on yourself. Yes, it's hard, I know. But it's what Allah says in the Quran, Surely, with hardship comes ease. And Inshallah I hope that your pain is eased soon. Just do your best to survive for now and I know it seems unfair, I know it does, but remember, this Dunya is all a test and it's temporary. It'll be over soon. Stay strong❤️
