Seeking Guidance on Family, Secret Practice, and Personal Dilemma
Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,
Respected Shaykh,
My name is Saifullah. I am a 19 year old recent revert to Islam.
Currently, I am practicing my faith in secret without my parents' knowledge.
I am reaching out to seek your Islamic guidance on three pressing issues:
Inviting My Parents to Islam: What is the best and most wisdom-filled approach to help my parents understand and eventually embrace Islam?
Praying Safely at Home: I am pursuing my undergraduate degree in a different city, where I am able to perform my salah freely. However, when I visit my family during weekends, I struggle to pray. The nearest mosque is 5 km away, and praying at home carries severe personal safety risks (including fear of honor-based violence if discovered).
How should I navigate my prayers under these extreme constraints?
Dealing with Financial Guilt: Although I am deeply firm and content in my decision to accept Islam, I feel a burden of guilt relying on my parents' financial support for my studies while concealing my faith from them.
I would be immensely grateful for your advice and prayers (dua).
JazakAllahu Khayran,
Saifullah
