Is writing scifi/super hero/ dystopian novels halal?
So for a bit of a backstory I struggle with moral ocd so everything for me is a question. For the past couple of year I was both an artist and a writer. But I had to stop drawing (for obvious reasons) and now I feel depressed and miss it alot. So before I start writing and pour my heart into it, I need to know if what I wrote is permissible or not. I write clean novels (nothing pg18 no haram relationships, alcohol smoking etc. I also don't write fantasy, mostly stuff I can explain with some sort of science even if it's soft science. ) However they are very real world inspired, with good and bad characters as the main but some morally gray characters too (such as side characters , politicians etc) I like bringing in real world issues such as Palestine, corrupt politicians and Muslim leaders who say they're Muslim but really ally with the west, family issues and friendships. But because of my ocd I am super paranoid (e.g I can't write about super powers because Allah didn't make that possible for us, even if I give a scientific basis like genetic engineering or radiation or something, or I can't make a team because boys and girls can't talk etc etc, instead of looking at the overall story I try to make my characters perfect Muslims. I don't even make my characters English or anything out of fear people might ship them or something, which people will do either way ) I just like writing because it helps with my mental health in a way.
