Is chronically loving a fictional character haram?

I have a friend who very, extremely loves a fictional character from the game blue archive called "Sorasaki hina".My friend said it's a condition and ngl I kinda agree. He carries a necklace of her image everywhere, says that she is his wife (I'm not even sure if he's being sarcastic or not), and he pretty much knows all of the character's info.He told me he's loved her since 7-8th grade and right now we're in 10th grade
