I have atheistic thoughts to the point i get panic attacks

What you’re feeling can happen so don't panic. Even sincere believers can go through moments where fear, doubt, or anxiety cloud their hearts. Faith is not meant to survive on emotions alone—it needs to be built with conviction and continually nurtured through worship, and duaa to increase our closeness to Allah and connection. The question isn’t really, “Can I logically prove the afterlife?” The first question is, “Can I logically prove that the Qur’an is from Allah?” Because if the Qur’an is truly the word of the Creator, then everything it tells us—including the afterlife, Paradise, Hell, and the resurrection—is no longer blind faith. It becomes the testimony of the One who created life and death. So what are some proofs the Qur’an from God? * Its unmatched literary nature. The Qur’an challenged the greatest Arab poets and masters of eloquence to produce anything like it. Fourteen centuries later, that challenge remains unmet. * The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ could not have authored it. He was known to be unlettered, yet the Qur’an displays extraordinary linguistic mastery, profound theology, legal principles, history, and wisdom that transformed an entire civilization. * Its consistency. Revealed over 23 years through peace and war, victory and hardship, yet it contains no meaningful contradictions in its message or worldview. Allah says: “Had it been from anyone other than Allah, they would have found within it many contradictions.” (Qur’an 4:82) * Its accurate knowledge of the unseen. It foretold events that later occurred, such as the Byzantine victory after defeat (Surah al-Rum), and many other prophecies fulfilled during the Prophet’s lifetime and after. * Its transformative power. The Qur’an changed idol worshippers into people of remarkable character, justice, mercy, and devotion. Its impact continues to transform millions of lives today. * Its preservation. Unlike previous scriptures, the Qur’an has been memorized and transmitted by millions across every generation exactly as Allah promised: “Indeed, We have sent down the Reminder, and surely We will preserve it.” (Qur’an 15:9) Once you are convinced that the Qur’an is from Allah, belief in the afterlife is no longer a leap into the unknown. It is trust in the words of the One who created you, knows what comes after death, and cannot lie. Don’t let anxiety become your theologian. Build your faith on knowledge, strengthen it through prayer, nourish it with Qur’an, and ask Allah sincerely for certainty. The Prophet ﷺ would often make duʿāʾ asking Allah to keep his heart firm upon the religion. If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked for firmness, then we all need to ask for it as well. May Allah replace your fear with certainty, your doubts with conviction, and reunite you with your loved ones in Jannat al-Firdaws.
