Girls side of family rejecting no valid reason
Assalamu Alaikum Shaykh, I wanted to ask for your Islamic advice regarding a marriage situation. I’m 19 and have serious intentions of marrying a girl, and we both genuinely want to be together. However, her mother would likely refuse mainly because of my age and cultures, (I’m Moroccan and she’s Afghan), even if I were financially stable. The girl has expressed to her mother that she wants to marry me, but we’re unsure what to do if her mother refuses. Should we stop speaking, make du’a and leave it to Allah, or is there a halal way to pursue the marriage? Also, how should we approach istikhara and making du’a for Allah to soften her mother’s heart and facilitate the marriage if it’s best for us? JazakAllahu Khairan.
