Fantasy Worldbuilding for Muslim Authors
Assalamu'alaikum, Sheikh. I'm planning to be an author someday, but I'm afraid that my worldbuilding might stray from Islamic teachings, so I'm looking forward for guidance.Worldbuilding is common in fantasy stories, and many authors create fictional belief systems. This may include self-created gods or polytheism. Is it permissible for muslim authors to create such elements? Especially if they remain fictional and are not intended to influence the author's and reader's own beliefs, by establishing boundaries that their work of fiction serve as a means of entertainment and the conveyance of moral messages.Furthermore, it is permissible for muslim authors to feature creatures from various myths, yet separate/alter them from their original legends to create our own stories? (This also includes creatures from polytheistic myths)Wassalamu'alaikum.
