Can there be Co-existence in the future between fundamentalist muslims and liberal muslims?
I'm a non-muslim who's interested in the Muslim community ever since the genocide in Palestine have gotten worst. Over time I allowed my algorithm to show me muslim content creators who talks about Islam and non-Islam topics. This helped me combat my internalized islamaphobia and understand some principles of Islam. What concerns me is the discourse of how the religion is being practiced. Liberal Muslims want to ignore their haram behaviour by justifying that it's not haram from the Quran or the Hadith. And fundamental Muslims are questioning Muslims who are not perfect on their faith and resorts to backbiting and insults. Every Muslim video I've seen always have a war zone in the comments. It's honestly sad to see, one of the principles of Islam I value is the sense of unity and understanding no matter how challenging it can be but I fear that this isn't being practice on online spaces. And worst, it feuls islamaphobic people to divide and conquer. Will there be a unity between these two opposing communities. It's honestly keeping me up at night and ruin my focus on work lately lol.
