Birthday celebration
Sheikh, I wanted to ask: if we don’t celebrate birthdays at all, but simply give a gift to a family member on their birthday because we’re happy that Allah brought them into this world and we want to make their day special, would that be considered haram?
We don’t have any birthday celebrations or parties. I’m only asking about giving a gift. Would that also be considered impermissible?
And if, on my own birthday, I simply get dressed nicely for myself and stay at home without doing anything else to celebrate, would that also be considered haram?
